THINGS TO DO AROUND NAMBOUR IN OCTOBER
OCTOBER IN NAMBOUR
Nambour GemFest 14 October 2017
The Nambour Lapidary Club has been host to the famous Nambour Gemfest since 2007.
The Nambour Gemfest located at the Nambour Showgrounds, is a fantastic annual event, where fossickers, miners, jewellers, traders, come together to display and sell their fine wares.
Buderim Forest
Tucked away just off the main streets of Buderim is a wonderful wheelchair friendly walk through the Buderim Forest towards the beautiful Buderim waterfall. Start at Harry’s Lane, just off the bottom of Lindsay Rd to stroll along the 700m long wooden boardwalk.
To access the waterfall direct, start at the top of Lindsay Rd and turn at Quorn Close. The walk is easy to moderate to the waterfall but is not wheelchair-friendly. The work is well worth it to reach the stunning hidden gem of Buderim Waterfall (also known as Harry’s Falls).
Maroochy Botanical Gardens
A beautiful place for a walk and a picnic. The gardens span 112 hectares located just off Tanawha Tourist Drive. Take a tour with a trained guide on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month starting at 9am or just wander around at your leisure.
